I play frequently with these evos at my local gym and I’ve noticed that the different colors have a slightly different feel and bounce. The ones with the black lettering are my favorite and my research has led me to discover that different runs and colors are made in different factories all over the world relating to the slightly different bounce and feel of these balls. This is definitely one of the better runs though as there are at least 10-20 different evos at any given time, brought by players at my gym when I play and we always try to pick the “best” one for the game ball. One last thing, I’ve noticed that these balls are much MUCH better when ever so slightly under-inflated! One person found this helpful

My second ball, I purchased in 2018 and have used it VERY often for the last 5 years. I began using it outside, so I purchased a new one for indoors. When I first touched this ball, it was at a pickup game and after 5 minutes I knew I had to have it. It was the best ball, with the best feel I had ever played with. Not only have I played an incredible amount of basketball with LOTS of different balls. I am also an incredibly skilled researcher. I literally went through 1,000's of reviews for every ball made under $100. So when I say this is the best reviewed ball that is being made, it's means people who have purchased every top name ball on the market (Solutions, TF-1000's etc.) are also saying it's the best and the one that will get picked to be used the most when playing. What's the point of having and practicing with a great ball if it's never used in any games! I also have owned this ball for about 6 months now and Feel like I can give it my wholehearted endorsement.FEEL:When I say it has the best "feel" of any ball I have ever used, hundreds of people agree with me. This ball has the perfect grip and softness and rolls perfectly off your fingers. It's has a little bit of give or sponginess in the leather which gives it the perfect amount of give on the rim, and also helps to give you that perfect grip throughout an intense game without getting slippery. 4.0 out of 5 stars The most important review you may read anywhere ( Quality Test ) !!!!! I recently bought a Wilson Evolution (not online, but from a sporting goods store). When I get home, I realized that the air valve was notably raised from the ball surface and that it was separated all around from the material of the basketball itself, all of which seemed to be an obvious defect. I ended up reading a bunch of reviews online (mostly on Amazon) about the ball, and saw that many people complained of poor quality control, with issues like raised air valves, seams being sloppily glued together, and the synthetic leather surface peeling off. I also saw that people mentioned that the ball has a three letter code at the bottom of all the writing around the air valve, starting with either X or N, and that the N balls tend to be better finished. My ball had a code starting with X. I ended up going back to the store I bought it from and exchanged the ball. Interestingly, the store had a bunch Evolutions, and they were in three totally different kinds of boxes. I looked at least 6 different balls -- all the balls with the code starting with X had problems -- either the air valve was sloppily inserted, seams had glue or extra material showing where they met, or the synthetic leather surface wasn't glued down properly where it met some seams and you could see some of the white raw material from the underside that shouldn't be visible. There were two balls with the N code and both of them seemed pretty much perfect (the only issue with them is that where the writing is around the air valve, the surface of the ball is a bit indented/depressed, probably because of the printing mechanism they use -- it's a bit annoying, but I don't think it's a defect, and it will probably even out as I use the ball more. Plus, I'd rather have that than any of the problems I saw with the X balls). I'm guessing that Wilson must be using different factories and that's what the X and N codes mean -- seems like the X factory has terrible quality control (I don't think the problem is fake balls as some people have suggested, since all the balls I looked at were in store, and many still had problems). My new N ball is great so far, so if at all possible, I'd say make sure you get a ball with an N code . The only difference is the outermost layer thus this affects the dribbling critically . ALSO , the models of the balls sold on Wilson Sporting Goods Official site is :-Original color : WTB05_00RNavy : WTB05_95ID02Optic Yellow : WTB05_95ID03Royal : WTB05_95ID04Green : WTB05_95ID01Scarlet : WTB05_95ID05Laser Engraved : WTB05_00VImportant Note : there is no perfect Wilson Evolution even people buying it from the Wilson site complain about color fading and valve popping out even if you look carefully and zoom in the pictures provided on Wilson's website for the ball ( i mean marketing pictures you will notice that the black line are sticked to the ball using glue and that there are other glued partsin a nutshell there is no great ball at this price range if you want something optimistic pay an extra 10 $ to buy the NCAA Official ball or at least try to order the Evo from the wilson website 151 people found this helpful

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Ball - Horrible Infaltion My daughter loves this basketball and it's great quality other then keeping air...which is pretty important. My daughter plays basketball 4-to-5 times a week. This ball has always been stored in our home, in a basketball bag, and has only been used on an indoor court, but it literally need to be pumped before each use. it does not loose a ton of air, but it's really really annoying it can't last more then a day. I should also point out the ball is less then a year old and if you were to look at it you would think it is brand new. Obviously it is a manufacturing issue.

I know it’s a little expensive, but this ball will last a VERY long time. I’ve bought other standard Wilson balls and they would last me about 6 months at most.

This is the best ball out there. That said, I bought this ball (size 7) in 2018 for $55. I lost it. I bought one again in 2021 for $65. It now costs $80. Stop gouging us. This is what the high schools use here and his club balls were all Spalding, this is fantastic, really upped his game.

I love the feel of the Evolution, and it's the go-to ball for noon basketball at my local YMCA, so there are usually 6-8 of them in the gym. They have good grip, sticky enough for a good feel, but not too sticky. The seams are deep and I find I can get good rotation on the ball with them; I prefer these grooves over the thinner ones you find in other balls. I forbid my kids from dribbling these balls anywhere except inside; I don't want any gravel ticks/divots on the ball.I've bought 3 of them now: the first was stolen, the second (this one) replaced that ball, and I bought a third for use at another location I travel to frequently (gotta have a good ball there too!.So given this, why only a 3-star rating? Two reasons. The balls have been uneven from a quality control perspective. Some balls have strange seams that don't have a smooth transition from black groove to orange ball. It's strange and subtle, but makes the difference between the guys wanting to use the ball for a game or not. (One guy's ball was never used for this reason).The second reason just happened to my ball. I was pumping it up and the stem just pushed into the ball. Never seen this happen before, but now the ball's useless and I have to decide whether or not I want to buy another one to replace a perfectly good ball (broken in nicely now--I've used it for about 10 months), especially if there is a risk of having this happen again. No one else has had this happen, so maybe I'll just dig deep and buy another, hoping for better luck next time.UPDATE: I purchased another one and it, like my first ball purchased, is great (my first ball was taken from the gym, so I purchased the second that had the problems above). 5.0 out of 5 stars Good investment for us weekend warriors Purchased two of these Size 7 (29.5”) Wilson Evolution Indoor basketballs for our basketball club at work.Grip: Wilson indoor basketballs are known for their excellent grip. Ball surface feels excellent to touch. I feel I am in very good control while dribbling and passing as the basketball seem to stick to my hands. I want to say it helps my shooting but that would be lying. We all know shooting takes much practice. However since the Evo Microfiber surface does provide better grip than other types of basketball, it added proper backspins when shooting the ball, which sort of increased the odds of the ball going in. The non-slippery, “moisture absorption” surface also helps increase control while dribbling with sweaty hands.Durability: Since I just got these balls a few weeks ago, I can’t really say about its durability yet. But according to Wilson’s marketing material, the microfiber composite cover has proven to be incredibly resilient, effortlessly withstanding the demands of indoor play. It maintained its shape and grip even after hours on hardwood floors. We play ball every Sunday, so we will see how the ball holds up in a few months.Cleaning: These balls are designed for indoor hardwood surfaces. So as long as you use them indoors, they remain easy to maintain. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes to keep it looking and performing like new.Overall, we are satisfied with these Wilson Evolution Indoor Basketballs.
