We got it in advance of our puppy coming home &, while we don’t know for sure if that’s the reason, she has been sleeping through the night every night! We just use the heartbeat feature, not the heat element, & that seems to work just great! The heating element is kinda dumb, as it’s only a one time use, anyway. Could probably find something that would fit that could be used multiple times, but, she’s doing fine with only the heartbeat part, so, why bother? It is easy to replace the batteries in the heart, and they seem to last a good amount of time. Even without the heartbeat or heat pack he will pull his baby out of his pen and take it to the couch to snuggle. He suckles and kneads it, which shows he’s content and cozy with it. I’m about to cut off the ears, too since she’s almost chewed them out…she’s a heavy chewer. But the body of it is still in great shape. I just pop it in the washer every few weeks. He seems to love it so I don't plan to take the Snuggle Pup out of the crate anytime soon. I used the warmer insert on the first night. 5.0 out of 5 stars Peace Finally My puppy Piper has been home 3 weeks now and bed time has been a nightmare. She has MAJOR anxiety. She has a conniption if she can’t see me for even half a second. She fights to get in the cage, cries and howls herself to sleep, and wakes up to do the same in the middle of the night. I actually don’t think she was getting much sleep either. I would walk by and she would be sitting up in the cage wide awake in the middle of the night.When I first gave her the snuggle during the day she was very stand-off ish to it. But I could tell that it was calming her even though she didn’t want it to touch her.Last night I put her in the cage with it and not one wine, bark or rattle. She was a little stubborn at first and wouldn’t dare let it touch her in the cage either. I just woke at 530A to find her snuggled with her snuggle. I’ve washed it at least 20 times over the year and it’s held up well. We used the heartbeat when he was a couple months old but took it out when he started sleeping through the night. Thinking puppy would be tired, anxious being away from her mom and litter mates, we’re hoping our first night wouldn’t be too bad. We put her in her new crate with her snuggle puppy we refer to as her sister. She immediately put her head on snuggle puppy with its warmth and heart beat and slept from 9 pm to 3:30. Every night since it’s the same. Our puppy gets as close as she can then drifts off. No whining or crying. I’m thankful I found this and had it ready for our puppies homecoming. I was so skeptical that it would truly make any difference in crate training our 10 week old puppy but after 4 nights of 45 min howling every time we put her back to bed after potty breaks I figured it was worth a try...first night with it and she only cried 5 mins. Our puppy would cry every night when we put her in the kennel and she wouldn't settle. We bought this product and our puppy took to it immediately. Our problem was that the heart, which is one of the keys to the helping the puppy adjust, didn’t work when we got it because the batteries were corroded.Our biggest issue was with Amazon however since trying to contact the seller about the issue was very complicated and we couldn’t get a replacement heart without returning the whole thing going through Amazon. We had an old one from our older puppy that we ended up using since we needed it immediately. I considered buying a new heart, but for the price it didn’t seem worth it.

After lots of research I kept finding this to be the highest reviewed and most recommended to help sooth an anxious dog. We bought it at midnight and it was here the same day. The toy is about 2x’s the size of the dog, but that’s perfect since it can replicate mama. This helped sooth our puppy and she was sound asleep within minutes. My only downside I can report is the heartbeat doesn’t seem to stay off…I turn it on at bedtime and turn it off in the morning. Then when we go to bed that evening the heartbeat has turned on again somehow without any of us turning it on (hence 4 stars vs 5). I would love it to be a little easier to operate, but other than that we have absolutely no complaints! 3 people found this helpful

The beat is strong enough to feel through the material and keeps an appropriate beat. Also houses the heat pack that didn’t last very long. You need to order replacements. Our golden poked a hole in the not so strong material on the top part. She’s not really a chewer so I sewed it up.We cut the tongue off just in case she got any ideas right? She carries it around in her mouth and lays down with it under her chin. Where she feels the heartbeat. It was $40 so I hope they can be friends for a while. So we only give it to her to use at night.. for her to sleep. It worked after two nights. Now she sleeps through the night. We also had an issue with it shutting off. I have to hold it down for more than 20 seconds for it to turn off.

We took the heartbeat out and lost it years ago so I can’t say if that would still be in perfect condition, but the stuffed dog has lasted many tug-of-war games coming out a champion. While other ‘durable’ chew toys have come and gone, she always comes back to her favorite stuffed dog.

The heartbeat was easy to start and she would just get in her crate and lay down with the Snuggle Puppy. I have never used the heat pads or the beating heart. I wish they made them without this at a cheaper price. We brought it with us when we picked up Lexi and rubbed it all over her mother. The little heart on the inside is still working after a month! We turn the heart on everyday. The heat packs were useful when it was really cold. Lexi hasn't even destroyed it yet or even tried. The velcro where the heart is and the hot pack goes is extremely strong and it isn't something a puppy will get into easily! My best friend had purchased one for her puppy and recommended it. We adopted our pup almost four weeks ago and she was 11 weeks. She barked like crazy when we’d put her in her crate. We bought this and I have to say it’s a godsend! She has not cried at all when we put her in the crate at night. She still wakes up during the night to go out so it’s not a miracle worker, but then again she’s still a puppy. 5.0 out of 5 stars Boxer Puppy calm, Finally! We've had our boxer puppy (1 of 9 puppies) for a week and he hollered, cried, and barked angrily for many nights. I ordered this overnight. The first night I gave it to him he looked SHOCKED! at the puppy then immediately put his arm around it and HUGGED it. Literally clung to it and put his face into its neck and sighed. He cuddled me and the puppy and we both finally slept shortly after, him in his kennel with an attached little run with puppy pads. He potties every 2 hrs and used to wake up, scared, too.Tonight I gave him a bath after a long day playing with our older Aussie. I made up a soft bed of a folded blanket, a puppy pad, then a second blanket wrapped tightly around. I prepped the warm heartbeat puppy and turned on his heartbeat. I placed it in his kennel and he immediately came over, hugged it and laid down, at ease. He chewed a strong chew, which I'm told helps puppies ease into sleep and promptly passed out.He likes to listen to the news at night (NPR) and lights a night light on. No one slept a wink those first few nights. I know some people say to get an old style clock and the ticking sound will comfort the puppy. I never really liked that idea because I was worried that the puppy would break the clock and accidentally swallow a piece of it. I happened upon this Snuggle Puppy and thought it was worth a try and seemed less risky than a clock. Well, let me tell you... he loves his puppy! Ordered this out of desperation with little hope it would actually help, but wow, huge difference immediately. Every time I peek into the crate, she's cuddling it. Fast forward 4 weeks and I've been diligent about turning on the 'heartbeat' every night before Maggie goes into her crate, but last night I forgot. Instead of settling in nicely, she cried for almost 2 hours. I kept taking her out thinking she needed to go to potty because this was not normal behavior, then remembered I FORGOT TO TURN ON THE HEARTBEAT! Turned it on and all was well in Maggie's world again. I honestly didn't even realize she was still relying on this so much, but I won't forget again - LOL. Highly recommend for your new puppy. But then in the evening, I put him to bed in his crate. I had tried to introduce him to the crate during the day with games, treats, etc. But when it was time to go to bed for the night - he was freakign out. Crying and frantically trying to claw/chew his way out. I finally threw in the heartbeat dog - and right away, he settled down. Absolute magic! He really bonded with the toy. And the next day, I continued to use the toy to help further crate train him. I can't recommend this enough!The heartbeat is decipherable, but not too loud. I had the crate next to my own bed. The sound was comforting to me, too. Only caveat was that the battery had died out by morning, so I had to buy new batteries. It does require a small screwdriver to open. 4.0 out of 5 stars Everything works as advertised other than... Puppy is cute and heartbeat works. Tried heart sound multiple days with no issues. Everything is great other than the effect on my puppy as it did nothing on his anxiety. So now it's just a little more expensive toy for my yorkie pup...unfortunately =( 5 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely love this! I purchased this for my new puppy. Took it with me when I picked him up. I put this in with his mom brothers and sister to get their sent on it. Broght it home, started up the heart beat insert “works amazing”. It is to this day his favorite and he carry’s it everywhere with him. It’s soft, very durable, heart beat has different settings and the heat pad insert is definitely a great added bonus !! Love this 27 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Love, Love, Love this heartbeat puppy! When I got my 6 week old boxer puppy I wanted to soft crate her at night in my bedroom. I was really worried about her leaving her dog Mommy and Daddy and her people Mommy and Daddy, along with all her brother and sisters. She was coming with a blanket with all her brother and sisters and mommy and daddy's smells, but I was still worried about her separation from them into a totally new environment, so I purchased this heartbeat puppy. Boy, was it a great purchase. She snuggled right up too it and slept the entire first night and every one after. It has a good strong heartbeat, but not so loud that it will keep you awake at night. It's a strong and study puppy so far. The batteries last quite some time. Our baby is 5 months and we have only changed out the batteries twice with me never shutting the puppy off throughout the first set of batteries. 5.0 out of 5 stars This thing is genius! I so wish snuggle puppy had existed when we brought home our first two pups! We brought home our new puppy last week and before we even left the breeder's house I snuggled our new baby between my chest and the snuggle puppy. It seemed to calm him immediately, and was the perfect quieting companion for our 9-hour drive home. Snuggle puppy currently lives in our puppy's crate. We installed new batteries when we received it and so far it's been on 24/7 for 5 days and the heart's still beating! At night we put heat packs inside and it stays nice and warm for about 12 hours. When he climbs into his bed he snuggles up next to it and falls asleep immediately. Our baby came from a large litter and I really do think the Snuggle Puppy has helped with separation anxiety. He sleeps peacefully and only wakes when we get him up for potty training. After he does his business he goes right back into his crate and falls asleep on the Snuggle Puppy.My biggest tips are change the batteries to new ones when you get it so you can be sure the heart will continue beating for days. Also, if your puppy starts to chew on it, just swap it out for something he should be chewing on. So far this has worked to keep him from destroying it since he's always chewing!If you're bringing home a new puppy, the Snuggle Puppy is completely worth the investment! 10/10 a must-have. 4 people found this helpful
