5.0 out of 5 stars Great for excercise I bought this for my son for Christmas last year. I thought it would be the same as every other gaming system I purchase, but I was very wrong. My son gets so much exercise from this device. He is constantly moving and when he takes it off. He is sweating like he has exercised. It is great for physical fitness and he doesn’t even know he’s exercising, he thinks he’s just having fun. Way better than sitting in front of a PlayStation or Xbox. Plus, he meets friends from all over the world through the games on this VR device and it’s very safe.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you can deal with Meta , it's a good unit for workouts While the Quest 3 is around the corner, I decided that the lower price and my use for it made this a better choice. The new firmware update, v55, has increased its performance, and it does feel snappier. They also increased the display to 120 hz. While it is an aging VR headset, it still has a lot to offer and years of use left with these free enhancements. While the visuals in the stand-alone apps are rather simplified, the headset with a link cable to my gaming computer (with a i-7 9700k, 32 gigabytes of ram, and a 4070 ti), the visuals are incredible. I played lone echo and lone echo 2 and it's incredibly immersive, It doesn't have quite the resolution and quality as the HP Reverb 2, but it's close.I primarily use this for virtual workouts. A silicone mask is provided with the headset. I changed the head strap to an aftermarket unit that was surprisingly inexpensive and far more comfortable. I also added a battery extender and earbuds designed for the Quest 2.I use it 5-6 days a week and my favorite workouts are:Vader Immortal III-lightsaber dojo (fun!)Beat SaberDance CentralThrill of the Fight BoxingSuperhotThe research is in and they say you get a real intense workout in VR. I'm entertained enough to not dread working out, and I'm drenched after my 20-30 minutes. Boxing is the most intense and I last 5 minutes! I tried supernatural, but it's $19.99 a month subscription.I'm more fit than I've been for some time. I was overweight and my resting heart rate was 85-90. It now averages around 70-72 bpm. I lost weight and then it stopped dropping because then I started gaining muscle! I jump rope and do push-ups as well, but only for 5-10 minutes afterwards.For those of you who use it more for gaming, wait for the Meta Quest 3 to be released in the fall. The specs and capabilities of the the next generation look very impressive. I had this unit before (gave it to my nephew) under Occulus, but I merged it with my FB account when I purchased it again . 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Budget Headset The Oculus Quest 2, (despite me buying it whenever it was branded as meta) is great for the price point. Always buy this stuff on sale. Runs smoothly for a lot of games, however the system is blurry for a lot of things. Does a good job for streaming and long hours of play/video.I got a lotta memories with this thing, so it's special, and holds up. Make sure NOT to drop your controllers in water though. I have been using mine for a couple months and I love it, so much so that I got a second one, so I can play with friends! It's everything I wanted!The only problems with the vr is the facial interface and head strap, but those are easily fixable!

Looks good and feels so real. Perfect entry level vr headset. Wish I had gotten it sooner but didn't have a clue what I was missing. Great for everything. Has tons of games. Apps for working out, relaxing, sleeping, and destressing. Amazing piece of equipment. Not only fun but it's helped me out alot mentally. Trust me. Had no idea what I was buying for my child would help me out too.

I knew it was going to be cool but neither my GS nor I ever IMAGINED it was as AWESOME as it is This VR is SO REALISTIC and dialed in that I lost my balance in my trip to Italy in the TRAVEL site, I cannot express how awestruck the entire family was when they tried it out! It’s quite the WORKOUT as well! The BOXING site, had my Son and a friend, totally soaked with sweat and heart rate up! This was the BEST THING I’ve ever done for my grandson! It's really early for VR technology but the Meta Quest 2 is just amazing and I think it will get even better over time. I only wish it were lighter but considering the hardware inside I'll let it pass. Overall a great product for $250 dollars.

5.0 out of 5 stars It’s amazing! I was lucky enough for this to come the same day! It came about an hour early but that didn’t matter. Setting it up was easy as you did not need to make or use a Facebook account. You did not have to put in a credit card immediately. The only problem was I never turned the headset on so I didn’t know why it would connect. Later, I turned it on and it was fine. There was a little glitch when I was in the tutorial but was easily fixed after. I then downloaded Roblox and it was very easy to setup! All you had to do was use a code. Later, I downloaded Gorilla Tag. I mainly bought the Meta Quest 2 for Gorilla Tag and Roblox and I’m happy I did. I later on added the credit care which is was very easy and bought some things I wanted. You can remove the credit card anytime. I honestly think that if you are looking for a headset, buy the Meta Quest 2! 2 people found this helpful

Soy usuario nuevo de VR, las únicas que había probado en mi vida eran las GEAR VR de Samsung (creo), y después de mucho tiempo tuve la oportunidad de poder adquirir estas y para ser una primera experiencia en VR, me encantaron! Las recomendaría totalmente si eres una persona que nunca ha experimentado con esta tecnología.El único punto negativo que le encuentro es:—Las bandas que van sujetas a la cabeza se mueven bastante (las cambié por un strap), no me daban toda la comodidad que buscaba.— Si conectas los visores por wifi al PC si calientan muchísimo, de hecho le compré un protector para los visores, pero preferí no colocarlo pensado que este se puede derretir al ser de goma (quizás exagero un poco, pero como soy nuevo usuario esa es la impresión que me da). Recomiendo conectarlas por cable para mejor calidad y mejor latencia, pero eso significa otro gasto en un cable alternativo de 3-5 metros o al original de meta.Esta es mi humilde opinión como nuevo usuario, te recomiendo leer más opiniones que quiere una idea más completa :3

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Great. Graphics not as great as expected. Pros: Works great. Lots of free stuff. Need PC and usbC to connect if you want better graphics. Many games and social apps and a few simulations. You definitely have a learning curve if you want to go beyond a few plinking games. The graphics are not very good when using the headset alone as I guess the processing power is not enough. They are on part with a Wii or perhaps PC games from the 1990-2000s. Having super hi resolution lenses is wasted on video which is not realistic. I have not used them with the PC too much yet. The graphics still aren't that great. The experience, though is really interesting and gives you a floaty feeling of being in a new environment. The free roller coaster running on just the headset can easily get you dizzy or sick as it moves but you don't so it can be a bit disorienting on fast mode. The theater gives a bit of a surreal experience to watching a video, etc. on a giant screen. The build-in sound is very good and immersive although you can run your own headphones if you like.And, its just like all the videos, when you are in the experience, it is so real that you forget there is a real world around you so you need some room for movement in the real world so as not to hit something.I can live without it pretty easily but it is a definite great experience and I can wait to do some of the driving and flying sims once I get the controls hooked up to my PC. 3 people found this helpful

3.0 out of 5 stars Torn in two directions at once.... So, there are two sides to this product. From a hardware standpoint, I really don't have any complaints. The headset is comfortable enough with one of the better adjustable head straps I've ever seen on any head-worn device. (I recommend wearing a cloth skullcap or even washcloth so that the strap isn't pulling on your hair (a baseball cap won't work), and the towel will collect sweat, although I've yet to sweat in it. There's a learning curve with the controllers, though it's not bad. Be careful, you could easily break them quickly, smashing them into each other, or punching into a wall or objects, though the guardian carrier does work effectively in keeping you from running into things once you set it up, so make sure you set it up properly. This product can NOT be operated in less than an 8ft square space. You may want to own a house with a dedicated room, or have some space in your apt. Don't expect to use this in an apt with no central open space. The audio isn't as good as some newer iphones, but its not bad either, however, I hope sending it out to a stereo is seamless. I have a feeling it won't be. Connecting to the internet was not a problem at all.My real issue is I don't feel the browsing of apps and functions is OPTIMAL considering how much fanfare Facebook is blowing about the metaverse. The nav took me a bit to get used to, but then it became fairly logical. The issue is some apps are much better at navigating than others. Having to boot out with the Oculus button varies app to app, and it almost never takes you back to the previous menu which you dove in from. The control console always shows up, but the menu of what you were in doesn't always. Case in point - the tv channel, which includes various travel VR scenes of Paris, Cairo etc. The Paris footage was great, if short, but I tried to boot out of Cairo, and the TV icon became visible, and I clicked on it, and I went right back into the video where I was, NOT to the previous menu of selections. I NEVER got back there, and ended up NOWHERE near where I started. Facebook needs to crack down on those apps not meeting the nav standards, but they prob don't want to lose previous content, which takes some effort to create, it is clear.You have to give this time. Some apps will disappoint, others will amaze, and there's no way to predict it, because this is a new sort of medium. The demos are often not adequate to be sure you want to pay for the app, and that can be a bummer, because if you don't like it, you just paid for zippo.For instance, one app claimed to be free, then dumped me into a big showroom where you have to buy your weapons. Other apps have demos good enough to make it clear buying the app will be worth it over time. Facebook should do more to demand adequate demos from developers.An app like Superhot is phenomenal and makes you happy you bought this. The demo gives you a taste of what the game about, and then the game seems like a good deal, and you've got a satisfying experience. I HIGHLY recommend the ISS space experience downloads if you want to see what floating in orbit is like. It's quite astonishing. The travel experiences make you want to go to those places. The issue is if you don't get into the right apps, you might find yourself saying ho hum.The travel TV segments look great if a bit dated. The famous fitness program Supernatural instantly put me into a 14-day trial that will go straight into monthly payments if I don't cancel it. Can't you just show me the program for an hour without getting my payment info? This isn't your iphone where you know iOS is there to protect you. This is Facebook, and yeah, I have a bias towards Apple, and I'm here to tell them that this market is open to take away from Facebook, because they aren't doing it 100% optimally.Another problem I have is the utility VR programs that tap into desktop software I want to use that are more specialized work through Steam and the PC. I want the Quest 2 to interface with Apple, and that may not be happening.I'm not saying that VR isn't a stunning experience, and the physical side is really well figured out. It truly is, but the software side (as often is the case) could be tighter. This is Facebook, and they claim to own this space so they deserve more pointed criticism. The issue is also that VR is a somewhat new medium, so some patience is to be expected. It will take a few tries to get used to the basic operation, and then you can start assessing the apps. However, if you get dud apps before you get used to the operation, you may find it all overrated. I just think Facebook should match their introduction to the physical use of the headset to a good cross section of apps to bring you in further. Echo VR is another app that shows you the potential of the medium once you get into it. However, I'm not really about meeting up with people I don't know to play games. These apps should have single-player options by default. The VR environment instantly puts you into a space where you're making choices, and sometimes you don't like the choices the app you're in has made. You want to do something else.People complain about the interface of the accounts with Facebook. I wasn't crazy about it at first, but you can create multiple profiles under the main one, so it's not the end of the world. Of course, many of the settings have to be reentered from scratch, and so far the apps don't seem to cross across the accounts, so not sure if that's optimal.Also, literally ZERO apps come with the console. There are free apps, but you wouldn't know it, since how to find them is NOT immediately apparent (once again, squeezing your own customer instead of being their pal), some of which are more or less lying, and others which are highly boring. You would think Facebook would have the brains to greet new users into their wondrous world by just having a mainstay of 3 seamless good apps for everyone that got you feeling good about the console you just bought.So I give it 4 stars for setup of the headset itself, and 2 stars for not really introducing the user properly to a set of apps that shows them the power of the medium overall. 154 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Battery life I am 52 years old a bit old for this set but does have its advantages for one it has work out apps that are awesome so if you rather stay home to work out then this VR is for you. It has great music to work out to and trainers you can work with. The only problem is the battery life . First time I used it I made sure to charge it all the way and It died on me after only an hour n half of play . I don't see where there isn't a battery life showing while your playing. I'm sure there may be a way to get on the screen so you can see where your battery life is at like on your phone or computer. Maybe someone can tell me how to do that lol ........ 4.0 out of 5 stars First VR that is truly "entry level", but with some catches. Ok, I have to say, this is what I was waiting for. VR that wouldn't break the budget. On some sales, it can be had as cheaply as $200, which is amazing for a true VR system. Well, it'll be $250, and you get $50 back that you can spend on other stuff, like games, which you're going to need to buy for it anyway.I also like that you don't need to set up sensors.. you can take it with you! That's so cool and conveniant!I had heard bad things about the onboard speakers, but I found them to be quite good for what they are, and perfectly usable, with excellent 3D head tracking! If you don't like them, you can always just plug in some earbuds of your choosing.The meta store has a nice selection of games and software that often go on sale, and have a fantastic "sponsored" system, where if you take someone's recommendation, you get 25% off and they get a $5 credit, and once you purchase and recommend, you get $5 to spend on some other purchase. I got quite a few cool games for $100, half of which was covered by my initial $50 credit. I'm more than happy in this area. Only complaint? The Meta "library" where you browse titles is kinda clunky, but I don't have hundreds of games, so it's ok for now. The games do have less depth and replayability than regular games, that seems to be the nature of VR.Now, for the downsides.- right off the bat, if you've tried other systems that are more expensive like Playstation VR or PC VR, you'll notice the graphics look.. um.. very primitive in games. The 3D processing power seems to be somewhere between a Nintendo 64 and a Gamecube, sorry to be blunt about it. However, developers are doing creative things to get around it as best they can. It is what it is, when you use "budget" tech.- I'm not sure if it's due to the lack of external sensors, or if it's the weak processors choking, but semi-regularly the head tracking "stutters" which is really off putting, and takes you out of the game and immersion, and makes motion sickness worse. You'll be looking around, and even if it's for a few frames here and there, it's just not always smooth. It's not a total game breaker, but again, there are real sacrifices to using cheaper, simpler hardware.- You will have to buy some accessories to get the most of this system. The headstrap that comes with it is functional to an extent with casual games and short playtimes, and VERY travel friendly, being just an elastic strap, and the battery life is very short for the syste, but the good news is, there's lots of choices out there for better headsets that have built in extended batteries, and they're not super expensive. I picked up a black friday headset with a built in battery for $25. That's great! I also recommend a carrying case to keep the system all together and safe.I haven't tried linking the system to my PC, but I've heard that can bring out even more possibilities to what games you play.So that's about it so far. I have heard a complaint that Facebook can take your whole system offline if you get reported on your facebook account, so that's horrifying. maybe don't use your real facebook account when you setup the system just to be safe.Summary: the best system on a budget, with some drawbacks. I think if money is tight but you want your kids to experience VR, this is perfect. It is like nothing you've experienced before and at first it is astonishing, it glitters like gold, yeah it does. But after some time (not much) you start to see the cons and realize that this technology is in diapers, and much work is left to do.It is an expensive piece of equipment, and an old guy like me (well into my 50s) coming from the first Ataris, can tell you that this is not worth so much.First of all, it is heavy as hell. Your forehead and your cheekbones will start to hurt after 15 to 20 minutes of use. You can tighten or loosen it up, move it and/or down, from side to side, no matter what it will hurt. I even bought a special strap to make it more "usable", but at the end it is the same. The original strap is garbage, buy the extra one.Second of all, it is made for people with a 20/20 vision. People with glasses will suffer with it. I have been wearing glasses since my teen years and at the end I decided to use the Metaquest without glasses and sacrifice clarity for comfort. Even with the spacer the Metaquest includes, there's a lot of work ahead to satisfy glasses users. Maybe they could develop a very narrow frame (that will fit into the Metaquest), that the user will have to buy, and then go to the optometry store to order the lenses for them, I dont know.Now, the graphics are still like the video games from the 90's or even late 80's. All said there.All in all, as a novelty it is very worth trying. For the price not so much. And for the very little work in it, definitely not worth it. Zuckerberg is filling even more his pockets with us!Ohhh and the last very important thing.... THIS THING IS LIKE DRACULA!! It cannot be hit by light or it will be ruined in horrible ways. You'll have to buy a very expensive pouch to carry it, or as I do, keep it way far in the closet covered by a black cloth... this is not a joke. As many "youtubers", "influencers" or as you want to call them, will tell you. But, if you're trying to use hand gestures it will always show "not enough light for hand gesture to work" !!!!!.... huh???

It does run a bit warm and the default headstrap is extremely painful but it was obviously meant to cut down cost. Picked up a new headstrap and face pad for $50 and they’re great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes FS2020 way more enjoyable. Bought this to use with my FS2020 and now won't go back to 2D for flying unless I really have to. Had to add a new graphics card to my PC as I was only using the default one on the mother board, which was not powerfull enought to drive everything needed. Once I did the upgrade and got everything working, the VR flying was GREAT. Nice to be able to see the landing in 3d so it makes it much easier to line up and land in one piece instead of the way I was landing (don't ask!)Also nice to use for watching movies and other video items in 'full screen' mode.Would recommend the 2 if you are budget limited as it seems to work well with Flight Sims. (Dont have a 3 to compare it to but for the money, it works well enough for me.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bang for the buck Easily the best bang for the buck vr solution, this headset is what I would declare to be the minimum priced vr experience that is actually worth it, as you can find many other cheaper vr devices but many of which don’t get you the “full experience” but this does. This is genuinely some of the most fun I’ve had out of a 250-300 dollar device, this is a completely enclosed system which not only allows you to play games off it, but also enables a portability aspect. The ability to use this device with a computer expands the scope of possibilities significantly, and this device allows you to use Airlink so you can still use a computer but escape the tether. This is just an awesome device for the money!

I own the PSVR, and I've tried some of the other ones that are tethered to a PC. Knowing that this Meta II is basically powered by the same electronics as a smartphone, I wasn't expecting much in the way of performance. I can honestly say that it looks and performs well beyond my expectations. I've had so much fun trying out different games and applications, and I love the fact that I'm not tethered to another device (PS, PC, etc). My one complaint so far is battery life isn't that great, but it also forces me and my kids to take a break when playing.

4.0 out of 5 stars An affordable entry into VR/PCVR gaming. I bought this knowing the Quest 3 was out, but the price was the primary consideration for me at the time. I find this to be better or fit my needs better as I only wanted something for PCVR, and this fits the bill fine if you're seeking out for that experience without paying too much.What are some of the pros? One was that I found the overall setup experience to be seamless and relatively headache free. Second, the controllers and headset feel sturdy and well made, probably meant to withstand accidental scrapes and impacts with objects, cause that will happen regardless if you're careful with your play area. Third is the integration with Steam VR, and you can just play any games in your library from the get-go without any issues as long as you have a cable that supports the bandwidth required, or also charge while playing so you can have an extended session.The only con that I have with this headset is the lack of IPD adjustability, which means I have to wear my prescription glasses and attach the spacers if I want to use the headset and not experience any blurriness. The Quest 3 has it built in as standard, but is also $200 over the MSRP of the Quest 2. I love the Les Miles exercise app. I have a lot of games and play only 3. Some of them make me dizzy and I can’t figure out how to move around and do what’s suppose to be done. But the shooting, drums, piano, swords games are fun.

If you wear glasses, make sure you put in the glasses spacer. You can do this by removing the black rubber around the perimeter of the mask. Start at the nose and pull up. Put in the spacer, then reattach the rubber. Makes a big difference. Favorite games are Beat Saber, 7th Guest, and the Jig saw puzzles. First time on 3D puzzles. Amazing.Stop before you get tired, otherwise you might find yourself trying to lean against the realistic tables to rest a minute (7th Guest). You won't do it more than once! It was suppose to arrive two days after Christmas but when he saw the package arrived by the carrier, the day after Christmas he just knew it was for him. As for the Oculus device it is amazing. As I was setting up the device I actually thought about purchasing one myself. The safety features have also been updated for parents. I think the age requirements is still in full force but as any device it’s always best to use the device with caution. My son has multiple breaks and is only allowed to play for a certain amount of time throughout the week. I would also advise to get controller extensions for other games such as beat sable and to create a safe room just for VR gaming. One person found this helpful

You should plan on purchasing an aftermarket headband as the one provided is not the greatest, it’s hard to adjust and doesn’t hold well. Aftermarket options are much better. The battery on this is only good for about 2 hours so there are also aftermarket headbands that include battery packs for longer run time.You have to have the headset in just the right spot in order for it to be clear.Overall I would recommend this as it’s a relatively inexpensive option to get into VR gaming.

I had just enough cash to buy one of these and thought I’d see if it was all I’d hoped it might be. Holy freakin’ crap!I was lucky enough to have a little spare cash on hand so to celebrate finishing my classes I bought myself a MetaQuest 2 VR headset package from Amazon. I did the initial set up tonight which was itself amazing. I have a virtual home that’s my startup lobby for everything and my home is on a space station complete with huge windows with a bright nebula outside and shuttles flying past docking at the station. When I need to access any menus etc., a window just opens up in the air in front of me and with my bare hands I can just tap any commands or instructions I want onto it and it whisks me away to wherever I’ve instructed it.After setting it up I finally gave a shot to my first free, fairly rudimentary game which is pretty much a first-person shooter game. When it loaded up I was in awe as I found myself standing on a high pedestal inside a gigantic flaming stadium where a fleet of mean looking drones start opening fire on me from every direction. I can see I have guns in my hands that are like blasters from Star Wars and I have to shoot down these attacking drones while I’m spinning in circles trying to pick my targets, and not fall off the pedestal while I’m firing a barrage of neon pink energy bolts at them. At one point I found myself with each arm outstretched straight out to my left and right sides and was just twirling in a circle firing while spinning and just found myself giggling like a little kid. I’m really stunned at how real it all looks and feels when that headset is on my face. I didn’t really think it would be that good, that all-consuming, or that real. I literally felt like I was inside a real-world sci-fi movie and it was incredible!Best thing is this little toy is also a very good piece of workout equipment. There are a ton of apps out there like Supernatural VR that have you constantly punching flaming meteors coming at you while having to jump over obstacles, squat down to keep from having your head knocked off and can get you sweating, wiped out and sore in just a few minutes. I can see this is going to be something I’ll be using like crazy.Tonight I’m going to try watching a movie on it. Apparently one of the apps I downloaded will play from my Netflix account, and put me inside a movie theater with seats, and lit aisles and the movie on a huge screen right in front of me. Really remarkable. I was excited to try one of these out and it turns out it’s even better that I imagined. Pros:- Fairly Immersive.- Amazing experiences.- Personal home theater, huge movie screen, made even better with paid Virtual Desktop ($20usd) that gives you actual movie theater vibes and tons of other scenes. Oculus link (Free) does a pretty good job with big screen too.- Nice desktop experience in VR through Oculus Link (free)- High refresh rates up to 120hz (if you're wired and can find a game that supports it)- Haven't seen other views to compare, but I'm very satisfied with the resolution. And hear its better than most if not all other VR headsets right now while also keeping in mind its the most compatible with VR games. Im guessing this is the Playstation or XBOX of Virtual Reality. Or they are lining up to be. Either way, its the right choice for gaming and other.- Truly the next level in gaming and virtual spaces like home theater.- Gonna list Half Life: Alyx as a pro. Was my first VR experience, and although god-tier amazing, I would suggest working up to it as not much has compared since :P But I am having fun in other games like Boneworks and TWD Saints and Sinners. I like TWD more so far but I have a few gripes with that game. (Not a reflection of this product)- As anyone would tell you, works well with streaming services. You got your Netflix Hulu and Disney plus.- You can load movies and videos from your pc stored into Oculus directly for trips without wifi.Cons:- Good thing I already owned a beasty gaming pc. You're gonna need one for titles like Half Life: Alyx.- Battery life. Could not watch a 2hr30min movie without plugging in. Con still offset by the amazing movie theater-like experience. Was using Virtual Desktop so maybe the wifi usage played a part.- Real Con, the strap it comes with is uncomfortable and will give you a headache the first week or so.- It is heavy on the front and my forehead and cheeks hurt, requiring me to take a break, wash and massage my face every couple of hours, every day. (I've watched videos on how to adjust and not over-tighten but not much can be done about the reality of the situation. It is far from weightless and fairly noticeable.-If you need glasses to see things far away, you will need glasses for the VR headset too. Special lens caps cost roughly between $60 and $100USD. But it comes with a spacer. You can likely get away with those retro non-spacer glasses.If they have those little feet that push off the nose you might be in trouble and if they are really big, you might be in trouble so look into the dimensions of the quest 2 view port and your glasses. An annoying extra step but probably worth it.-Scuba Diver effect. The view cant be in the pro section. As I said, you'll feel like a scuba diver. Only during the most immersive of times will you not notice too much. To be fair this is.. most of the time.- blurring and lens-rings. If not absolutely perfectly centered, you'll get some blurring in various parts of your view. At first and for a few days the little magnification rings of the actual glass piece of the lenses will be very noticeable in your peripheral. Again to be fair.. again, while having an amazing time, you will not notice.- Also there's this thing about the lens spacing I hear a lot of people complaining about. I think I'm just at the edge of the farthest setting but could probably do with a tiny bit more. Read other reviews and look into it about I forget what its called, the space between both your pupils.- It'll take a few days or more than a week for your mind to ignore some of these, like the rings, occasional blur, and scuba effect.-Serious con, be ready to shell out at least another $100usd or so on extras. $19 link cable $16 extension cable plus breakaway protection, Silicone Grips and hand strap (worth it and kind of necessary for throwing objects in comfort,) $30 Rechargeable batteries or a large supply of AA’s. Be sure either are 1.5v. $10-30. Head Strap pad I bought $15 (not compared to $30-50+ or so elite straps. And if you need the prescription lens caps another $60-100. And your first game ranges from $10-40usd or so, for the good stuff.- Very few free games/stuff. And not that many AAA amazing titles. (Not exactly a reflection of this particular product)-This thing gets sweaty after a few dozen minutes of intense gameplay so have a dry cloth handy and don't get pulled into the ‘pass it on or around after playing beat saber to your friends’ fantasy.IMO/SideNotes Related to this product directly and VR as a whole:- The device should have been a more evenly weight-distributed helmet.- I wouldn't expect to game any more than an hour or two without being plugged in either to a power outlet or pc. Mileage may vary.- Buy a 10 - 20 ft data cable with your purchase. The provided cable is like 3ft or something. You're gonna need it regardless of pc ownership. Search youtube for good 3rd party brands it should cost around $18-28usd or so for a good cable with decent length.- Find your play area and hold your arms out, now plan for an additional one or two feet, mainly North, West and East of you. The Quest 2 comes with a 'Guardian' thats really good at letting you know when you're 'out of bounds' but you will be bending to search or grab stuff reaching and leaning over, tossing things aside (In VR, While stationary, with one or two steps of leeway) make sure you have the space to be swinging your arms around like that. be honest with yourself about this space. If you don't have it, you don't have it. Sorry. I had to rearrange my room a little but luckily I had the space and it was absolutely worth it.-VR is very physical. Some games have seated options but require too much leaning and grabbing and searching to do it sitting down. So be ready to stand and crouch and lean. I kept that from both pro’s and cons. IMO, awesome, but be ready for it. Make yourself take breaks every half to sit and stretch if you're not used to standing all day, but not even taking into account the workout apps, this has gotten me burning more calories and keeping my redstuff circulating more and my metabolism on its toes. Actually crouching behind cover is pretty cool but also tiring lol.- IMO, Probably not a con, too many older games being remade or re-released in VR. Don't get me wrong, Fallout 4 with Whispering Hills mod was and is mindblowing but after putting in so many hours on the pc version and playing it for years, its kinda hard to get all the way into again. But I guess for kids who never ever played Fallout 4 and they get it for VR, then it’ll be pretty awesome for them. Same for Resident Evil 4 Which I played on the Gamecube, not in VR yet but I fear the novelty will wear off as I played that game like crazy already and it would be a massive retread - even if VR itself is still amazing, I’ll stand by that. (So not a direct reflection of this product)-I want to see more completely brand new AAA single player games.-I hear GTA San Andreas is coming to VR.. Again, great for kids, but how about a brand new GTA VR?.- Only been in the scene a few weeks but, looking back and ahead, it looks like a really lazy and slow march into making VR a thing for everyone. IMO right now it's still more of a niche enthusiast thing. I only say that because I’ve been hearing about VR for years. What did people play on the Quest 1?- Get a small rug or mat to stand on, maybe even a towel will do so you know when you're stepping off too far out of bounds. I have a small rug I folded up just enough to fit my feet with a little bit of slack on all sides. This’ll make you more comfortable but will also help keep you stationary and orient you. They sell $100 tough gamer standing pads about the size of the guardian, if you have the dedicated space and money for it, I can't stop you I guess, but a simple, thick rug or small yoga mat will do.-Like a baseball plate, add a little point when you draw your guardian space to let you know which way you should be facing at all times, you want that wire mostly behind you at all times.I have more to say but admittedly this is getting long. I would wait a couple of years until a much lighter and more comfortable VR device comes out. But, if you cannot wait any longer and love gaming or just want what VR has to offer. I can tell you that, it is here, and it is amazing.Seeing previews of anything VR on a 2D screen cannot do it justice and neither can words, of this you must trust me, you would have to experience it yourself to truly understand. Ask a friend or coworker if they have one and if you can try it. You wont believe it until you do. Or take the plunge like I did. I have my gripes with this thing, and it's not all fairy tales, but I do not regret purchasing it. I was a bit concerned about the internet connection, since we live very rural and have only a very, very slow connection. But this works without a problem.The headset is, thanks to the straps, adjustable to a wide range of head sizes. It doesn't pinch the hair or rub or feel uncomfortable. The viewer fits around my younger daughter's head all the way up to my husband's very large one. There is a built-in cushion around the area it rests on the face, which keeps it from rubbing or irritating. The nose area, unfortunately, isn't nearly as 'all fitting' and is rather large. My son does find it sometimes distracting, since he can glimpse a tiny bit of the 'real' world when glancing down. There is also an extra accessories which is placed in the headset for those who wear glasses. I've tried it with and without this extra piece, but didn't have trouble with my glasses either way. The handheld controllers are comfortable in the hand, have buttons which are easy to reach, and work very well. These do have wrist straps, which work very well, too.On to the games and usage! I'm not tech-savvy, so things have to be pretty basic for me to use them. This headset is no problem. It came mostly charged and ready to go. It's pretty self-explanatory with the menus easy to see and use when the visor is on. It took about 2 hours for the installation to download and install...but that's thanks to our very, very, very slow connection. And we found that fast (so that tells you how quick it'd be on 'normal' connections). It took a bit to flip through all of the menu options and included apps to see what is there and what not. We did need to download the games, but this was no problem. There are free ones and variously priced ones, giving something for every direction and budget. Once downloaded, the games work easily with or without internet connection (depending on the game, I assume). We got the basic memory one and it has more than enough space for us.The headset battery usage lasts about 2 to 4 hours, but this depends on what games are being played as well as the screen brightness and such. So, it can vary. The hand controllers, of course, hold longer, but believe it or not, these are NOT rechargeable. They use standard AA.Clear some room space when using this. It does have an awesome mapping out application, which the kids loved to use and roam through the house with. And the games to have the player 'draw' the borders first. Watch flailing arms, though (we did have some accidental whacking of innocent family members going on). It is fun. Tons of fun. Some of my relatives, who tried it out for a few minutes because...who wouldn't?...did experience a bit of a headache after 5 or so minutes of play or had a bit of dizziness. I didn't have a problem nor do my kids, though.I'm glad we picked this up, one for both of my kids at home, and they do play together (they can chat through the headsets and such as well). This came on time, no damage to box, and it was packaged nicely.As I unpacked VR I noticed notfully charged, also the set up takes time. Make sure you have your phone near by, and good place sit there a update take couple mins or longer if you have show connection. Easy steps to complete, simple explanations, and it links to your insta, or FB so it's your choice to do so.Both your hand held take AA Batteries. Also they are installed already. There a couple things you could install while software installing. Your VR headset there soft cushion rubber that goes in VR face plate, also i benevolent extensionfor those that have glasses. The VR eyes adjust so you can get clear view when you have headset on.I ended up completing setup, I'll loading you game of your choice I was in Multiplayer gun match for little. If your not experienced in VR world this takes time to get use to movement and feel. So make sure you have big area before you start adventuring.The headset died after hour half, takes 2.5hr to fully charge. Please do not hook up to fast charger, as I read into the Headset can only handle 5v nothing higher. I did order a big battery pack, you could put in your pocket have it plugged in while your playing. It's fun and the fact that someone on my budget could afford it is really something. I wouldn't have had a VR set if it weren't for this being as affordable as it is. There are some shortcuts clearly taken to help keep it affordable but the actual VR hardware is amazing. Visuals are clear and immersive and it keeps up with my movements very well. If you don't have the money for something like an Index or Vive but want VR this is a great choice. It's also pretty sturdy. I've punched my table so hard my knuckles bled and the controller barely had a mark on it. You also can't tell I've headbutted my desk multiple times trying to pick up guns and rotwiener cores lol.Lets get complaints out of the way first:• The original strap the headset came with is 100% the absolute worst part of the headset.Do yourself a favor and snag the Kiwi Design head strap while you're here on Amazon. The original strap squeezed the heck out of my head and if I loosened it the headset could flop around a bit causing blurry graphics and just being uncomfortable for a different reason. Due to that constant squeeze it gave me some nasty headaches usually after 2-3 hours of gameplay but sometimes much sooner and they could last the rest of the day. While they're nothing compared to a cluster headache for pain they were still what I'd consider bad.• Air link was awesome and worked great but was broken within a week of receiving the headset likely due to a patch (0.37 I think).I didn't get to enjoy it and the only potential bit of troubleshooting I have left to try as far as I've found is a factory reset which I'm reluctant to do. I bought a 3rd party link cable which is working well enough for me but I'd really like to be able to take my gaming to my living room where I have much less risk of punching or breaking anything and have some room to physically move around.• I don't really like having to be signed in with a Facebook account.I don't think this is going to change anytime soon if ever though.I've played Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades (H3VR), Blade & Sorcery, Pavlov, and Legendary Tales with my headset. I've played around 76 hours since I got it and aside from the headaches problem (which I've solved recently) it's been absolutely amazing and immersive. I've also used it to watch youtube, streaming shows, and movies. I absolutely love the thing for every use I've had for it so far. It's an absolute blast to experience actually fighting an opponent yourself whether it be that sniper in his tower or a bunch of knights. Just through the games themselves there's an amazing amount of stuff to experience but adding mods makes it even better. This headset can get your foot in the door to worlds you've always wanted to see in person at a pretty cheap price compared to it's competitors. Past video game levels, fantasy settings, all sorts of places to see and things to do.An aspect you might have been thinking about is this is a great fitness tool even without dedicated fitness apps. Before you realize it you'll be sweaty and tired from swinging your arms, moving around, and holding your arms in front of you for surprisingly long periods of time. Pretty much anything you do with your VR will involve some level of activity and the gaming will almost certainly help kick your butt into shape. You should still visit the gym and make sure you're eating right though.I have only done gaming through PCVR and SteamVR. I have not tried any of the games for the headset on it's own nor do I expect to anytime soon. If you're looking for info on them then sorry but I can't help you with that.There's several improvements I'd love to see either through future patches or future products. Probably the easiest would be the ability to verify and repair to latest patch the headset software from settings (if it's there I haven't found it). That way if my air link problem is software based I could fix it easily without having to do something like factory resetting the thing. If not then that's one more troubleshooting step I can cross off on my own fairly easily. In the next model or with an accessory if it's possible one thing I'd like is a second dedicated charge port allowing the use of a link cable and a charger with more oomph than a PC's USB 3 port would typically have for longer play times both at the same time. Another thing I'd like is a fabric cover. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to get into VR I purchased this during the Black Friday sale, so it was $200 after credits, which was a fantastic deal, so that factors into my review.As someone who has never used a VR headset before, but has been curious about it for a few years, this has been a fun experience so far. It can work as a standalone platform, or you can use it to connect to a PC and play VR games that way. I've seen other people complain that the straps on the headset are uncomfortable, but I haven't had any issues with them.Really, my only issues with the Quest 2 are as follows:(1) Some games seem to make me feel nauseated (Rec Room is the worst offender so far), which isn't helped by the headset getting a bit warm after awhile. I was expected a bit of disorientation, but as I generally don't get motion sick, this was somewhat surprising to me. There are some settings that can be tweaked (especially sitting vs. standing), so I plan to try that out on certain games to see if it helps.(2) Meta's history of privacy issues.(3) The AR cameras are black-and-white and kind of meh quality, so this isn't really viable for any sort of AR applications, which is admittedly a very minor complaint.(4) The battery life seems a bit on the short side.Overall, for $200 (or even $250), this is a fantastic device for someone looking to get into VR. It's versatile, can be used for a wide variety of games and applications, and has been a ton of fun to use so far. 91 people found this helpful

Most games are reasonably priced. So far my experience has been great. I can say for the price in comparison to the Meta Quest 3 it is great. One person found this helpful

This is because you can adjust the speed of movement and choose SITTING MODE. In many games you can “jump” to a spot.You will charge your headset and then set up a Metaquest account. After that with your headset on, you will be taken to an interface inside the VR world where you can adjust and tweak your personal settings to suit you. You will also see APPS which teach you how to use everything.Be aware that if you want to buy Metaquest games only, they WILL download directly onto the headset. From other sites like STEAM you need to have a computer capable of LINKING the headset to the game. Google the requirements. ( This info provided by my 20 something computer savvy son.)I have had my headset one week and I can truly say it is initially a LIFE CHANGING experience.-I am not on there to play combat games-If you want to TRAVEL, to PLACES IN NATURE you will not be disappointed!. National Parks around the world on BRINKS TRAVELER, NATURE TREK takes me to mountains, trees, water features and wildlife!!! TRIPP is …mind blowingly calming, imaginative, artistic, beautiful…outstanding. I still have to try 2 or 3 others I bought, but couldn’t wait to write this review.Yes it’s TRUE you CAN tell it’s not real, but it’s the next best thing to actually being there. What helps is that when you lean forward in your seat and look around, it’s in 3D all around you! You are totally immersed.So if anyone my age or older is hesitating for all the reasons that I was…don’t, go for it.I bought my games half price off in a sale, so I’m sure the sales will return.To summarize: In the beginning, the first week, I went on VR every evening and enjoyed discovering the wonderful, amazing and beautiful VR world. However it is a just form of entertainment and after the novelty wears off, like all things in life, after a short while, it will just become a part of entertainment / relaxation tools and won’t replace all your other interests. You will still want to read, watch movies, play match -3 🤣🤣🤣, cook, enjoy REAL hiking and REAL people. And then when the mood suits you you’ll be back on VR.Just so it’s known, my first experience of VR was a year ago, in an exhibition, “The Van Gogh Immersive Experience.” The VR there allowed you to travel THROUGH paintings! I traveled through the beloved “Cafe de Nuit”. I was in. AWE.I would LOVE IT if developers could develop more experiences like that, traveling into:paintings, museums, monuments, landmarks, documentaries, history…EVERYTHING PLEASE! And THANK YOU 🙏I bought the comfort headset, extra attachment, and it’s worth it to get a good fit. Also if one of your eyes is sharper than the other like mine you can buy lens relacements on Amazon (I believe, I still have to look into it more). 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Experience Since I got it properly adjusted the headset is comfortable and provides an amazing VR experience. It is completely immersive with fantastic sound quality (not hi fidelity, but music sounds good). My wife walks right by me while I’m playing and I have no idea she’s there.It can be a little disorienting at times, so it’s important to have plenty of open space around you. I haven’t tried it sitting down, but that might be a good idea when playing games with more motion/ movement to avoid getting motion sickness.I’ve only tried a couple different games but the selection appears to be pretty good. Edit: Beat Saber and Moss are two must-haves. Incredible experience in both. PistolWhip is also quite fun.The one knock would be the short battery life (I haven’t run it all the way down, but would estimate it at 1-1.5 hours). However, they recommend taking breaks and not playing for too long at any given time. The battery life works in a one-user scenario, but would be too short if you’re sharing the headset between multiple users. Edit: After playing on the headset more I’m finding the battery is lasting longer than I originally thought. After two solid hours of play today I still had a good chunk of battery left. Increased my rating to 5 stars based on this.Overall, I’m very happy I bought this headset. 48 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars A startling, occasionally disquieting virtual reality experience for all First, a little background. I'm 73 years old. Above average in the activity department, adept mentally, although I am literally the only person I know who can lose something when standing perfectly still. I have four grandchildren. I hold down a full-time job as a writer, and a once-a-year gig teaching Rio Grande Board Games at the annual World Boardgaming Championships (WBC).It was at the most recent WBC that I was introduced to MetaQuest 2 and in particular, its bundled game called Beat Saber. I'd tried much cheaper VR systems, the ones that hold your phone and you have to download apps to run on them. This was an entirely different ball game. This was, I should note, not a function of the WBC. It just so happened that one of the site administrators had brought the system along with him and one evening, invited me to give it a try.The first issue that one should note is that once you put the headset for this system on, you are pretty much detached from the reality around you. This is fine as long as it's just you and the machine, but you can forget about being outside the machine and trying to instruct someone inside the machine about what's going on. As it happened, the man who introduced me to the system basically set it up for me - put it on his own head, clicked the right buttons - and then transferred the headset to me. With a couple of hand prompts and a word or two, Beat Saber, the program that comes with the MetaQuest 2 when you buy it these days, came on line and there I stood, with two controllers, one in each hand, as my eyes beheld on the screen in front of me, a series of square blocks coming at me, each with an arrow, pointing either up, down, right or left. The controllers operate two light sabers, one in each hand, and the object of this game is to swat the approaching blocks in the direction indicated by the arrow on them. There are also occasional large obstacles coming at you, like skinny walls, which appear like three-dimensional line drawings as they approach. You can't swat these aside and the idea is to avoid them. In most cases, this entails just stepping out of their way, either to the right or the left, but dependent on some choices you make in Beat Saber, some of these objects can be wide and impossible to avoid unless you duck as they approach. No way to jump over them.And there's music. At first, you don't pick up on the idea that your swatting activity with the light sabers can occasionally be rhythmic, linked to the beat of the music. . .Beat Saber. Get it? But you'll pick up on that fairly quickly. If you don't dance and would like to, this is a good program that will force-feed you the concept of moving your body in beat with the rhythm of a song. You don't realize you're dancing because as far as you're concerned, you're swatting colored boxes with virtual reality light sabers. A note of caution. People familiar with the system and how it works will delight in recording video of your attempts to play the game; unbeknowst to you, 'cause you're wrapped up in the headset and can't see anything but what the machine is giving you to see. These people recording you will be LOL-ing themselves breathless, as you contort yourself in a relatively confined space, trying to dodge things and swat at the colored boxes.I made the mistake of failing to heed the warning that if I didn't buy one of these systems soon, its price was going to go up. A lot. And it did. But I bought it anyway and am just beginning to tap into the available free apps and exploring the possibility of buying other ones.There's a free Epic Roller Coaster app, which is fairly enjoyable, although oddly enough, both myself and my wife (now at home with our own MetaQuest 2) found ourselves getting a little queasy during the experience. Not sure what that's about. She NEVER goes on real roller coasters and I do it all the time.Also found a walking-on-a-building-skeleton app that had me God knows how many stories high and though not generally afraid of heights (acrophobia), I wasn't all that keen on walking on the available, skinny steel walkways to approach the edge. I'm in my living room, my mind knowing damn full well that I'm not only not as high as the program makes me think I am, but am, in fact, on solid ground. Yet, in an attempt to approach the edge and have a look OVER the edge, I am literally creeping forward, edging my foot out in front of me, making sure of my balance with each step. My mind absolutely refuses to grasp the concept that I am not in any danger.It should be noted that when you play in virtual reality, the mechanism has you define a space where you are going to be, literally drawing a perimeter line. It's not because the machine is worried you might step off the big building you only think you're on, but when you're playing a game like Beat Saber, you want to make sure that your arm movements don't knock over a lamp your Aunt Ethel gave you for Christmas last year, or in moving your legs around, you don't accidentally kick the screen out of your new Smart TV.I haven't been too excited by any of the first-person shooter kind of apps that are available. That kind of activity never lured me to the various systems that were already on the market. But I did notice and have been on the verge of pulling the trigger on some of the other activities, like table tennis, actual tennis and some other sports activities, like baseball. Am also interested in what is, at present, a small selection of board games, like Tsuro and chess (in a variety of different environments). They offer Catan (originally, Settlers of Catan) and though my interest in board games is strong, I never really liked Catan in real-time, so I'm not going to pick it up in VR.I recommend this system highly. The experience of good VR (and you can buy systems better than the basic one that I purchased) is mind-altering. It's something to which your mind has never been previously exposed; an alternate reality with its own set of rules that takes some getting used to. It's more expensive than pot, but unlike pot, it doesn't just let your head create new connections and free it from everyday anxieties, it creates a reality within your brain that is intriguing to watch, hear and interact with.And as my age indicates, fun for all ages.Oh, and one other cautionary note for those of a certain advanced age. The first time I tried the system, at the WBC, my score at Beat Saber was abysmally low. So I tried again. And again. It wasn't my hand movements with the controllers or the side-stepping away from approaching objects that got to me. It was the ducking at things that I had to let go over my head. I made the crouching moves necessary with reckless abandon. Once, again, and again. My upper thighs complained to me all of the next day.
